Nice interview of Cara Santa Maria on this show called The Rubin Report. Some pretty insightful comments here by Cara.

Here is a song that I really liked recently. From the OST of the movie “Southpaw”, which BTW, is a really good guy flick. Reminded me of Rocky and Million Dollar Baby.
Paris attacks, whatever the fucking ideology or motivation behind them may be, however holy, are one of the ghastliest acts of violence in world history. There can never be justification for killing of peaceful, innocent citizens. I will not go into the debate into whether Islam justifies such violence or not, because I have seen the argument get really hairy real-fast. So I will not delve into that. Suffice it to say that these acts are acts of cowardice and hatred and do not deserve any place in minds of rational people.
No matter what you do, or say, these acts can never be justified. Period.
I wish Jon Stewart were still doing his show to condemn these attacks, but John Oliver also does a decent job. Here are a few words of much-needed profanity against these bigoted assholes.
Fuck you, Dayesh.

Yeah, that actually happened….again, and statements like these remind me of the plot of the movie “Groundhog Day“. Politicians in USA, especially those on the loonier side (Ahem, Republican, Ahem) tend to make these sort of statements. Ted Cruz is another stellar performer from this constellation of lunatics. Guess which state he is running from? Yeah, you guessed it right, the state which officially means crazy in Norway.
Recently, at this National Religious Liberties Convention in Iowa, he made this statement when asked how important it was for candidates to submit to Jesus Christ as “the king of the President of the United States.”
His response – “Any president who doesn’t begin every day on his knees isn’t fit to be commander-in-chief of this country,”
It remains to be seen how long does this country, the shining beacon of freedom and all the frills of civilisation, takes to elect an Atheist as its President.

This story has been getting a lot of mentions in Facebook, Twitter and Print Media, so here are some links. I think the results are pretty straight-forward. This is a piece of news you seldom get to hear, especially from respected, peer-reviewed journals. But lately, many high-profile (and much maligned) journals have also published reports in a similar vein.
I am pretty sure most religious apologists are typing their typical defensive responses right now furiously. Tsk Tsk Tsk…
The actual research paper can be accessed here.

I mean, you gotta be kidding me!! If Atheism is a Religion or a Belief System, then nudism is a fashion of clothing! Dear Mr. Ham, have you seen this thing called a Dictionary lately?? Atheism is absence of belief, and absence of belief is not a belief. Come on, how stupid you can be??
The original story is here. Seriously, this is like a news item from The Onion or shit like that. SOFA KING RETARDED.
[Video Description] Richard Dawkins urges all atheists to openly state their position — and to fight the incursion of the church into politics and science. A fiery, funny, powerful talk.
Well, Full Disclosure – I haven’t read any of his books or articles. My only exposure to him is through one of his interviews at BBC (Hardtalk with Stephen Sackur) and through this documentary. To me, he looks like a man of principles, and I think he has been ousted from the academic and jewish community because he exposed some of the most balatant lies told by Jewish Lobby in US and Israel itself. He has exposed the West’s hypocrisy in a pretty clear way.
But I also find it strange that he has found not many sympathizers in academia or outside. May be it’s personality that rubs them the wrong way. I have just no fucking clue. He is an enigma to me. May be I should read his works and then I’ll have a better idea.
Here is the documentary. It came out in 2010, and received good reviews. Quite a watch, to say the least.
Well, Last week I posted the first episode of this new series by Brian Dalton. He is back with a new episode. Check it out, it addresses one of the core issues of atheism.
Interesting little video.
